Comparison of
goodness
If karma is the fruit, the result of the accumulation of
good or the accumulation of evil, then you should know what is good and
what is evil. It's good. Goodness comes back to me, so from now on I
will do goodness unconditionally. I will share everything I have and I
will live empty-handed. You can think of it like this.
Or I won't
do any evil. Therefore, whoever strikes me, I will forgive him and not
hit him. You can think of it like this. People often forget that karma
applies to any action, including yourself. It is also the most religious
teaching, and that is also the weakness of religion.
But karma
doesn't exclude you. Even what you do to yourself, karma includes in
building good and does not pay for your sacrifice. For example, you gave
2 out of 2 loaves of bread to someone else. And you are dead You died
for others, and others live, but you killed yourself. So it's not good.
Goodness should be able to save you and save others as well.
someone is trying to hurt you You didn't defend yourself and ended up
hurting yourself. It's like doing evil to yourself. When we do good and
evil, we must watch the process of accumulation and know who it is for.
In the end, you must know that what you do good and evil is for yourself
and for the sake of returning, so you must not forget that you are the
axis.

You must know that it
is a virtue for yourself, just like going to a church or a temple to go
to heaven or not to hell. In the end, you may question whether good for
oneself is really good, but no one will do anything except for oneself,
and that is not a shameful thing, but human nature. Just as the earth
rotates around itself, humans also understand the world around
themselves, and that is not greed but natural providence.
Understanding
and strengthening the self is closely related to selfishness in the
general sense, not selfishness in the evil sense. Selfishness is a
process for self-interest and is necessary as long as it does not harm
others. If you don't live for yourself, no one lives for yourself
instead.
However, in doing such a nature, in the end, you must
know that others are not different from yourself and act as the cause
and result of the practice of goodness and apply it.
Helping the wicked is not good. Wicked people can harm others.
Helping a good person can be good, but you can't judge whether that
person is a good person. Also, even if you help a good person, if you
can suffer damage by helping him, it is not necessarily good as a
result. Also, if helping makes him dependent and consequently brings
worse results, it is not necessarily good, and the results of good karma
will not return to you.
All good and evil cause and effect must
be seen in the context of the whole, not excluding you, weighing each
other and interrelated. There is no unconditional good and unconditional
evil, and the concept of good and evil is not absolute, and it will
require momentary situations and judgment at each time.
Karma and
Atonement
If karma must be paid for, then when someone is wronged or
in misfortune, it is a process of atonement for past actions and there
will be no need to help. Rather, by helping him, it may be that he is
obstructing the path of atonement, and in this case, the cost of
obstructing the path may come back to him, and this is true. There are
also cases where the sun returns instead of receiving a blessing after
helping someone.
So, should we just ignore the misfortunes of
others? Indeed, this is happening in India. The low class in India are
born that way because of their past karma, so they live thinking that
they live like that as their atonement, and the people around them do
not seem to help them to improve their environment.
We must be
clear that happiness and unhappiness are not controlled by God and that
karma is not God. Karma is the principle of the universe. Karma doesn't
protect you on purpose. Karma brings the seeds of unhappiness you cause
back to you as unhappiness. However, that doesn't mean that even if you
didn't plant seeds of unhappiness in your previous life, nothing bad
will ever happen to you. Misfortune happens, but you have a chance to
avoid it. Disaster will befall you if you do not avoid it.
If you
avoided disaster when it came, you did not commit karma in the past.
However, if you deliberately receive the disaster without avoiding it,
claiming that it is the karma of your past, you have received useless
karma. In India, there are cases where the body is pierced with needles
to make atonement or deliberately subjected to penance through painful
yoga, but these do not repay the old karma, but rather increase it. In
the above text, it was said that karma includes yourself. Tormenting
yourself is also a karma and it comes back. In the end, I can't get out
of the pain.
We always went through misfortune, challenged that
misfortune, turned it into happiness, and created a better environment.
Therefore, no matter what unfortunate circumstances come upon you, you
should not use them as an opportunity to atone for your sins, but you
must escape from them and improve.
Also, if someone erases such a
life from you, the system, country, culture, and tradition that erased
that life will all receive the karma that gave it. Therefore, in
someone's unequal misfortune, you should not sympathize with it and you
should not try to convince it. Even if that person's misfortune is
really the way to atone for sins in the past, you will have to give
yourself a chance to get out of it.
